A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME: ALLISON PLUMMER

Divorce is never easy, but it doesn’t have to be agonizing and tumultuous. My personal experience with divorce and separation is one of those times I wish I could go back and change how we handled everything. At times there are situations that deem the involvement of lawyers. In my case, we could have easily went with divorce mediation to dissolve our marriage and together work out the best arrangements for our daughter. I guess hindsight is truly 20/20. Yet this is what motivated me to become a mediator, “let my mess become a message!”

In my case, the excessive amount of money and time spent on lawyers and in court would have been better served utilizing the services of a divorce mediator. When you are tying the knot; undoing the “I Do’s is not ever something you think you are going to be faced with. I believed the only way to dissolve our marriage was through litigation. Looking back now, we would have been the perfect couple for mediation. We knew our marriage was over and we easily could have made fair decisions regarding our assets without legal counsel or a judge.

What is Divorce Mediation for?

As a female working for over 3 decades in the legal and medical arena, I have ultimately been serving people in all aspects of life. Truly understanding that I am a people person wanting to help in all capacities to solve and reach the best outcomes.

I have a background and degree in Social Work so by nature I am a great listener. My own personal experience with divorce and co -parenting has taught me how to offer a more personal and caring approach to divorce; along with the creative ability to help both parties through the mediation process.

Mediation is one of the best ways to avoid some of the unnecessary stress, emotional and financial burdens on people. Divorcing is already a tense and emotional time. Deciding what is best for the future should not be.

It is my goal to help minimize unnecessary stress, help reduce costs and support couples through tough decision making to reach a personalized and amicable resolution.

No matter where you are at in the process, I can offer you a more clear and precise option. I want to work with you to create an agreement that is in the best interest of all so that each party can move into the future with peace of mind, integrity, and hope. Divorce doesn’t always mean destruction; it simply means going our separate ways and dissolving the union. This can be done by a much gentler approach through mediation. Mediation simply reconciles people’s assets and time that in essence will determine a fair outcome for all.
